Need to adopt the teachings of Bhagavad Gita: President Murmu
Chandigarh: President Droupadi Murmu called for inculcating the teachings of the ‘Bhagavad Gita’ in life, saying it is a religious scripture that provides a ray of hope to the depressed and hopeless people as well as practical life guidance.
President Murmu said this while inaugurating the International Gita Mahotsav on the banks of the Brahma Sarovar here.
President Murmu is on a two-day visit to Haryana to attend various programmes. She also participated in the International Gita Seminar at Kurukshetra University and Srimad Bhagwad Gita Sadan in Kurukshetra in a series of programmes.
President Murmu also laid the foundation stone of a medical college to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 950 crore in Sirsa district, besides launching the Nirogi Haryana scheme and Haryana’s e-ticketing system.
