Chandigarh: The new Special Investigation Team (SIT) will now probe the drug case registered against senior Akali Dal leader Bikram Majithia during the Congress government in Punjab.
The government has constituted a new committee to investigate the drug case. However, only its head has been changed, while no changes have been made in all other members.
As per the orders issued by the Punjab government, a case was registered against Bikram Singh Majithia at the Police Station State Crime on December 20, 2021.
Based on the office orders of May and August 2022, a new committee has now been formed to investigate the matter. It will be headed by Patiala IG Range Mukhwinder Singh Chhina. The Punjab DGP has issued orders in this regard.
