People must wear masks at public places: DC S.A.S Nagar

District administration fully prepared for any situation

4845 samples collected; 611 tested positive in April

S.A.S Nagar: Amid rise in the cases of Covid-19 in the district Mrs Aashika Jain, Deputy Commissioner has asked that people must wear masks at public places. She informed that since surge in cases was noticed, the health teams were directed to increase the sampling and over last 15 days sampling have been increased two and half a times. Directions have been issued to all government as well as private hospitals to ensure testing of all indoor patients and to increase testing of patients coming in their OPDs.

The Deputy Commissioner disclosed that this year
22,323 samples were taken so far out of which 763 were found positive. In the month of April, 4845 samples have been taken and 611 have been tested positive.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the adequate arrangements have been made by the district administration to fight Covid.

The deputy commissioner has asked the people that if they get any symptoms they must step forward for RTPCR test in place of RAT to complete rule out Covid. She appealed to people to ensure full compliance of social distancing norms and take all necessary precautions and observe covid appropriate behaviour. At the same time, urging the people not to panic, Mrs. Aashika Jain directed the officials of the health department to be fully prepared to deal with Covid. She said that all the arrangements are up to the mark in the district for fight against this disease which includes medicines, beds and oxygen in the hospitals.
