Political conferences by Akali factions to mark Mela Maghi on January 14

Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal Badal, Akali Dal Amritsar, and the newly formed Panthic Party led by the ‘Amritpal Singh Team’ are set to hold political conferences during Mela Maghi on January 14.

The Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) will organize its conference at its traditional venue on Malout Road bypass. According to party city president Manjinder Singh Bittu, leaders, workers, and devotees from across Punjab are expected to attend.

The event will begin at 7 a.m. with the bhog and ardas of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji recitation, followed by a political conference addressed by leaders, including Sukhbir Singh Badal. To accommodate attendees during the cold and rainy weather, over 3,000 waterproof chairs are being installed in the tent.

The Panthic Party of ‘Amritpal Singh Team’ will hold its conference at the Green Sea Resort on Bathinda Road, following a change in venue due to rain.

Tarsem Singh, father of Amritpal Singh, stated that the event would include the formation of a committee to announce and expand the new political party. The conference will feature addresses from MP Sarbjeet Singh, Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala, and other leaders.

Simranjit Singh Mann’s Akali Dal Amritsar will host its political conference at Dera Bhai Mastan Singh on Malout Road. Constituency in-charge Sukhraj Singh said a large number of leaders are expected to attend.
