Punjab govt to impose fines on high-security number plates from tomorrow

Chandigarh: The Punjab government seems to be strict about high security registration plates (HSRP). The government has refused to extend the exemption given in the high security number plate.
The government said that vehicles not fitting HSRP will be challaned or blacklisted from July 1. A special drive will be launched by the Punjab Police to crack down on such vehicles.
According to Rule 50 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, high security registration plates are mandatory for all categories of vehicles. This rule was made mandatory from April 1, 2019.
