Punjabi University: Student’s mysterious death triggers protests, professor thrashed
Punjab E News: Students of Punjabi University today staged a massive protest on the university campus over the mysterious death of a girl student on Wednesday night. The students have accused a professor of the Punjabi department.
They started protesting in front of Vice Chancellor Arvind’s office. They also thrashed a professor during the protest.
According to the details, Jashandeep Kaur was a first-year student of the five-year Punjabi Integrated Course, a resident of Bathinda district.
His brother Jagsher Singh said she was unwell but the university had given only five days leave. Jashandeep was brought home yesterday and given medicines. She died last night. She lived under mental stress.
The brother alleged that the attitude of the concerned professor was allegedly bad towards her.
Meanwhile, the students alleged that the student was scolded. In this regard, Director Public Relations Daljit Ami said that a meeting is being held by the university.
Meanwhile, the professor has denied all the charges.
