Income from registries on upswing in Punjab: Jimpa

Under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government has added another feather to its cap. The Punjab Government has registered 32 percent more income under the head “stamp and registration” in December 2023. Revenue Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa said that providing transparent, hassle-free and corruption-free services to the people of Punjab is the main goal of the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and due to this, the revenue of the state is continuously increasing.

    Divulging the details, Jimpa said that from April to December 2023, the state exchequer has received an income of Rs. 3142.67 crore under stamp and registration, which is Rs. 285.81 more than April to December 2022. From April to December 2022, this income was Rs. 2856.86 crore.

    He added that the Punjab government has received 32 percent more income in December 2023 alone as compared to the previous year. As against Rs. 315.81 crore in December 2022, Rs. 417.85 crore credited into the government treasury in December 2023.

    Jimpa further said that the income of the state is continuously increasing.  He said that since the Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan took office, many decisions have been taken from the first day which have brought positive changes in the State.

    He said that as soon as the government was formed, efforts were initiated to eradicate corruption from Punjab. In April 2023, Revenue Department also issued a helpline number 8184900002 for filing complaints regarding the functioning of Revenue Department. NRIs can register their complaints on 9464100168. These numbers are for written complaints only.

    Jimpa said that new appointments are being made in the revenue department and educated young men and women are being given employment. He said that all appointments are being made by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan on the basis of pure merit, which is showing good results. The newly appointed boys and girls are doing their work with full honesty, diligence and with corruption free manners.

    The Revenue Minister said that in the past, the common people were very unhappy with the working of the revenue department, but now people are getting smooth and good services. He appealed that people should support the government to further strengthen the treasury of the state and not to give any bribe to any officer or employee of the revenue department and if anyone asks for a bribe then it should be reported immediately. He said that corrupt officers and employees will not be spared at any cost.
