Sant Sechewal calls for comprehensive planning to avoid floods

Urges people to come forward to develop green belts on 23rd anniversary of holy Bein kar sewa

Sultanpur Lodhi: Rajya Sabha MP Sant Baba Balbir Singh sechewal advocates for comprehensive planning to reserve rain water as it will not only maintain the ground water level but also to be helpful to avoid devastating floods.

Addressing the Sangat here on the 23rd anniversary of kar sewa of holy Kali Bein , in which Cabinet Minister Mr. Balkar Singh also took part , Rajya Sabha MP said that “ the present society was paying the price for their acts against the nature .

Talking about the climate change across the globe , MP said that it has made ill effects on our weather , resulting in natures fury .

Sant Balbir Singh also termed the cleanness of rivers a regular feature besides removing illegal encroachments from rivers catchment areas to avoid floods in future .

Thanking the Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann for working towards the cleanness of satluj and Budha Nalah in Ludhiana , Sant Sechewal said that after the completion of Rainy season it was the dire need to clean the rivers .

Urging the people to save the ground water , Rajya Sabha MP mentioned the report of central ground water board , which suggests the depletion of water in speedy manner till 2039.

Local bodies Minister Balkar Singh said that it was the matter of pride that 23 years ago with the efforts of sant Balbir Singh Sechewal that holy bein cleaned .

He also said that the cleanness of rivers and natural water sources was on the priority list of Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Mr Bhagwant Mann .

    Prominent amongst present on the occasion included sant Sukhjit Singh , Assa Singh , advocates Gurbhej Singh , Gurdeep Singh , Satnam Singh and Amrik Singh .
