School bus collides with truck, 14 children and 2 staff injured

Chandigarh: Fourteen children and two staff members were injured when a private school bus collided with a truck near Dhanaula on the Barnala-Chandigarh main highway.

All of them were admitted to Civil Hospital Dhanaula. According to the information, the school bus of Green Field Convent School Dangarh was traveling from village Pandher to village Dangarh, carrying children from different villages.

As the school bus approached the road to village Bhathlan and Dhanaula via the national highway, it collided with a truck. The collision was so severe that the front part of the bus was completely damaged.

Approximately 14 children, along with the bus driver and a female helper, were injured in the accident. They were admitted to Civil Hospital Dhanaula by passersby and a police party, using ambulances and various other means of transportation.

Four seriously injured children were referred to Civil Hospital Barnala, while the others were sent home after receiving first aid. Eyewitnesses at the scene stated that the accident occurred due to the high speed of the school bus.
