Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan visits flood affected areas of District Faridkot

Expresses grief over death of girl due to roof collapse at village Bir Sikh Wala; Assures free treatment of injured family members apart from monetary support to family

Chandigarh: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Monday visited the flood affected areas of Kotakpura, District Faridkot and took stock of the situation arises due to heavy downpour.

Sandhwan along with Deputy Commissioner Faridkot Vineet Kumar and other district officials visited various villages and listened the plaints of the people of affected areas. He asked the district officials to ensure all help to flood affected people. He instructed the administration to make arrangements such as drainage of rainwater accumulated in residential areas on priority basis.

Speaker Sandhwan said that the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has made all arrangements to deal with any flood situation. He said that the situation in district Faridkot is under control and strict monitoring is being made by the administration.

Meanwhile, Sandhwan also visited the village Bir Sikh Wala and expressed grief over the death of a girl due to the roof collapse during the unfortunate incident and said that apart from free treatment of the injured family members, the family will also be supported with financial aid.

Sandhwan further said that the Punjab government stands with the people on the this hour of need raised due to the Natural disaster. He requested the people not to create panic, the Punjab government will extend all possible assistance to the people of the state.
