Stubble burning cases cross 1,000 in Punjab, highest in Patiala district
Patiala News: The total number of stubble burning cases in Punjab rose to 1,027 on Monday with 58 new cases, an official said. Patiala recorded the highest number of 15 cases on Monday, leaving Amritsar at the top of the list this season, while Amritsar reported eight cases of stubble burning.
Ludhiana reported the lowest number of cases at one and Ferozepur and Kapurthala at three each, SAS Nagar, Fatehgarh Sahib and Faridkot at two each and Sangrur district at four.
On October 9, 2022, only three cases of stubble burning were reported. It is clear from this that stubble burning is being done in violation of the government’s order. In 2021, from September 15 to October 9, 614 cases of stubble burning were reported and in 2022, 714 cases were reported.
