Sukhbir Badal’s meeting with excommunicated Dera Chief a betrayal with Sikh panth: Amarjit Singh Kishanpuriya
Jalandhar: National Senior Vice President of the Shiromani Akali Dal BC Wing, Amarjit Singh Kishanpuriya, has criticized party president Sukhbir Singh Badal for allegedly meeting with the excommunicated Dera Sacha Sauda chief. This allegation stems from an interview given by Pradeep Kaler, a former in-charge of the Dera’s political wing, in which he claimed that Sukhbir Badal had met with the Dera chief.
Kishanpuriya said that such a meeting constitutes a significant betrayal to the Sikh Panth and the authority of the Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
Amarjit Singh Kishanpuriya has appealed to the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, urging him to demand an explanation from Sukhbir Singh Badal for violating Sikh traditions by engaging with the excommunicated leader.
Kishanpuriya has also called upon Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Harjinder Singh Dhami to clarify his stance on the issue, questioning why Dhami has remained silent amid the controversy. He said that Kaler’s statement implies multiple meetings between Badal and the Dera chief, raising concerns about the motivations and implications of such interactions.
He further urged Sikh organizations and leaders to seek accountability from Sukhbir Singh Badal, accusing him of deceiving the Sikh community. He said that a formal written complaint will soon be submitted to the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and the SGPC President, demanding action against Badal in accordance with Sikh traditions.
