Amritsar: Suspected drone movement was seen at Sri Guru Ramdas International Airport in Amritsar, Punjab on Monday night. Due to this, all flights of the airport had to be stopped for about 3 hours.
Air India’s Delhi-Amritsar flight was also not allowed to land due to the movement of the drone. Due to lack of clearance, the flight returned and then reached Amritsar Airport at around 4 am the next morning.
According to airport sources, the authorities had found movement of 3 drones. This movement lasted from 10.15 pm to 11 pm on Monday night. During this time, the drone would sometimes come over the airport and sometimes go through the side.
Two of these drones were seen near the boundary of Rajasansi side airport and on the back side of the terminal. All flight operations at the airport were suspended for security reasons after the Air Traffic Control (ATC) reported the suspected drones to higher authorities.
