War against drugs: CP Dhanpreet Kaur visits drug trafficking hotspot in Jalandhar
Jalandhar: Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur on Wednesday made a surprise visit to Lakhanpal village, one of the key hotspots for drug trafficking in Jalandhar. She was accompanied by DCP (Investigation) Manpreet Singh Dhillon and several other senior officials.
The village located close to Jandiala has long been identified as a major hub for illegal drug activity. As soon as the police team arrived, local residents also gathered at the site.
Residents interacted with the commissioner about the ongoing issue of drug trafficking in the area and assured full cooperation with the police. They claimed that since the Punjab government launched its anti-drug campaign, drug sales in the village have come to a halt.
They further vowed to inform the police immediately if any trafficker attempts to sell drugs in the village. Villagers also thanked CP Dhanpreet Kaur for visiting, noting that she is the first police commissioner to set foot in their village.
