Wheat harvest delayed by two weeks due to unseasonal heavy rains in Punjab

Chandigarh: Due to unseasonal rains in Punjab, the harvesting of wheat in almost all the districts has been delayed by two weeks. Though the state government has announced that its procurement centres are ready to procure wheat from April 1, officials in the state’s agriculture department say that the harvesting of wheat will start only after April 15, considering the weather.
