DC forms “regulatory body “ to deal with complaints related to fees, online studies and purchase of books in private schools

Kapurthala: Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Vishesh Sarangal has formed a “regulatory body” to deal with the complaints received from the parents of children and various organizations regarding fees, online studies and purchase of books in private schools.

Under the “The Punjab Regulation of Fee of Unaided Education Institutions (Amendment) Bill 2019, the chairperson of the regulatory body will be Additional Deputy Commissioner (General ) Kapurthala.

Apart from this, District Education Officer ( Secondary )will be its member secretary, District Education Officer (Elementary ) will be its member. Besides that two representatives selected by the government in the field of education are Sudesh Sharma and Prabhjot Singh.

It is to be mentioned here that in 2021, committees were formed to dispose off such complaints , Under which from 1-5 class District Education Officer Elementary, Deputy DEO Elementary and BPEO of the respective block were included.

For secondary level (6-12 class ) District Education Officer Secondary, Deputy DEO and Block Nodal Officers of respective blocks were included .

Deputy Commissioner said that both these committees will also work under the supervision of the Additional Deputy Commissioner General. Besides that respective sub-divisional magistrates will be additional members in the said committees in their respective sub-divisions.
