Lapse in PM Modi’s security, action ordered against then Punjab DGP, DIG and SSP

Punjab E News: The Punjab government has taken major action regarding the security lapse of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The government has issued orders for strict departmental action against the then DGP Siddharth Chattopadhyay, the then DIG of Ferozepur Inderbir Singh, the then SSP Harmandeep Hans. Also, action will be taken against many other IPS officers of Punjab in this case.

The government has asked the then ADGP Law and Order Naresh Arora, the then ADGP Cyber Crime G Nageshwar Rao, the then IGP Patiala Range Mukhwinder Singh, the then IG Counter Intelligence Rakesh Agarwal, the then DIG Faridkot Surjit Singh and the then Moga SSP Charanjit Singh as to why disciplinary proceedings should not be initiated against them as recommended by the inquiry committee.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited Punjab on January 5, 2022. Meanwhile, PM Modi’s convoy in Ferozepur was stopped by farmers on a bridge in a village. After this, the PM had to cancel his program and he returned to Delhi. The matter went to the Supreme Court and an inquiry committee was formed. Action is being taken on the basis of this report.
