Terror links in blasts on Heritage Street! NSG team arrives for investigation after NIA
Chandigarh: In Amritsar, the investigation into the twin blasts at Heritage Street near Sri Harmandir Sahib on Saturday and Monday has intensified.
After the NIA, now a team of National Security Guard (NSG) has also reached the spot to investigate the spot. Since the NIA and NSG joined the investigation, the focus on the terrorist angle of the attack has increased.
Punjab DGP, who reached the spot after the blast on Monday, had said that the blast was caused by a crude bomb. It is too early to call it a terrorist incident or a conspiracy.
Both incidents are being investigated from all angles. DGP Gaurav Yadava said no shrapnel was used in both the blasts. Triggering mechanism and no detonator have been found.
The explosive substance was kept in a container near the parking lot. There was a thread hanging in it. Someone coming out of there inadvertently pulled this thread and it exploded.
