My government jailed 300 corrupt people in a year and further action will continue: Mann

Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab is taking strict action against the corrupt. As a result of this campaign, the Punjab government has jailed more than 300 corrupt officials posted in various departments on the basis of complaints received on the ‘Anti-Corruption Helpline’ number issued a year ago. This claim has been made by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann while releasing a video message to the people of Punjab.
He said that a year ago, the ‘Anti-Corruption Helpline’ number was launched, on which if any officer or employee demands money in addition to government fees for government work, then a complaint should be made by making audio or video of it. Appropriate action will be taken against that officer.
Mann said that the Punjab government has registered a case against around 300 officials on the basis of complaints of the people and lodged them in jails.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the Punjab government had promised on the very first day itself to save every penny of the people’s earnings and put it on the people’s work. He said that the Punjab Government would continue its campaign against corruption in future as well.
It may be recalled that the Punjab government has lodged more than 300 officers in jails. At the same time, former Punjab Cabinet Minister Dr. Vijay Singla was also expelled from the cabinet after registering a case against him on receiving a complaint.
