Forced speech case from Sri Akal Takht Sahib; Head granthi and 8 others fined heavily

Amritsar: Akal Takht Head Granthi Giani Malkit Singh and eight others have incurred substantial fines for coercively permitting a speech by Nihang Singh at the historic fasil of Sri Akal Takht Sahib during Bandi Chhor Purb.

On Bandi Chhor Diwas, Nihang Sukhchain Singh, hailing from Rajpura, urged the appointment of Baba Balbir Singh as the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Giani Malkit Singh, seated near Sri Guru Granth Sahib, directed the closure of microphones as Nihang Singh spoke.

Consequently, the SGPC and Sri Akal Takht Sahib have held the head granthi and servitors accountable, imposing fines on all nine individuals. Notably, security measures were lax on that day, with officers absent during the occasion.
