LoP Bajwa questioned for six hours in Mohali over ’50 bombs’ remark

Chandigarh: Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, Partap Singh Bajwa, was questioned for over six hours by the Mohali police on Friday in connection with a case registered against him over his controversial remark that “50 bombs have reached Punjab.”

Bajwa appeared at the cyber crime police station in Mohali for the second round of questioning. He was earlier questioned on April 15. After emerging from the police station in the evening, Bajwa declined to speak to the media.

The Congress leader has been booked under Sections 197(1)(d) and 353(2) of the Indian Penal Code. He has filed a petition seeking the quashing of the case.

On April 22, the Punjab and Haryana High Court extended interim protection from arrest granted to Bajwa, but allowed the investigation to continue.
