New Delhi: A special fast-track court designated to hear cases related to question paper leaks and unfair practices in public examinations has started functioning at the Rouse Avenue District Court in Delhi.
According to court sources, Special Judge Anu Grover Balia assumed charge of the designated court on Saturday. The court has been constituted to exclusively hear offences under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, along with related criminal cases.
Sources said the trial involving 13 accused currently in judicial custody in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case is likely to be transferred to the newly designated court.
Earlier on Thursday, the Delhi High Court issued a notification declaring the court of Judicial Officer Anu Grover Balia as the designated fast-track court for the trial of offences under the Act with immediate effect.
The notification followed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement on July 23 that the Centre would establish fast-track courts to ensure the speedy disposal of paper leak cases as part of a broader crackdown on examination fraud.
