New Delhi: Shiromani Akali Dal Lok Sabha MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Friday thanked Union Home Minister Amit Shah for personally calling her to enquire about the health of SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal following the alleged attack on him inside a gurdwara in Maharashtra.
Harsimrat said Shah had assured her that the incident would be investigated impartially.
“I sincerely thank Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah for personally enquiring about Sukhbir Singh Badal ji’s health following the attack on him inside a gurdwara in Maharashtra,” Harsimrat said in a social media post. She also thanked the Home Minister for his personal concern and support during the difficult time.
She further expressed gratitude to Shah for his commitment to ensuring an effective investigation into the incident.
The contact between Shah and Harsimrat is significant politically as it is reportedly their first communication since the Shiromani Akali Dal broke ties with the BJP-led NDA in September 2020 over the farm laws. The two leaders had not been in communication for several years.
