Chandigarh: Social media influencer Arupreet has reportedly received a death threat on social media, with a post allegedly warning her that she would be the “next target”. The reported threat surfaced after the killing of another social media influencer, according to reports.
However, the threat has not been officially confirmed by the police so far.
Following the reported threat, Arupreet changed the settings of her Instagram account and made her profile private. She also changed the name displayed on her profile to “Arshdeep Singh”.
The changes were reportedly made amid concerns over her safety and the alleged circulation of threatening content on social media.
Alleged threats linked to gangsters
Several social media posts and other material allegedly carrying the names of gangsters have also surfaced in connection with the matter. Some of the posts reportedly warned other people involved in creating or promoting similar content of consequences.
The authenticity and origin of these posts have not been independently established, and there has been no official confirmation from the police regarding the alleged threats.
At present, there is no official information identifying the person or group allegedly behind the threat or establishing a motive. The social media claims are therefore being treated as allegations pending verification and investigation.
