Chandigarh: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Wednesday filed a supplementary chargesheet comprising nearly 40,000 pages against senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia in a drug-money case.
According to a government spokesperson, the investigation has traced financial transactions worth approximately ₹736.96 crore allegedly linked to drug proceeds. These include ₹161 crore in unexplained cash deposits, ₹141 crore routed through suspicious foreign entities and ₹236 crore in undeclared funds held in company accounts.
The spokesperson said the first chargesheet filed in the case had referred to assets worth ₹540 crore.
Investigators have focused on Majithia’s alleged financial network, transactions involving liquor companies and suspected links with international smugglers. Earlier case records had also raised questions about his alleged associations with Satpreet Singh, alias Satta, and Parminder Singh, alias Pindi. These included claims that he had transported them in his official vehicle while serving as a minister.
The investigation has also examined financial transactions involving companies allegedly linked to Majithia, with Saraya Industries emerging as a key entity. Transactions involving liquor companies, suspicious foreign entities and business associates connected to the Akali leader have also come under scrutiny.
The allegations form part of the ongoing investigation, and the charges are yet to be established in court.
