New Delhi: Delhi Police assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Manasvi Vashisht, who led a gathering of police personnel at the force’s headquarters on Monday, has been suspended by senior officials, sources said on Tuesday.
The action comes a day after several police personnel assembled outside the Delhi Police Headquarters (PHQ) to express concerns over the transfer of two officers following a confrontation between police personnel and lawyers in Shahdara.
The transferred officers were ACP Manasvi Vashisht and Shahdara station house officer (SHO) inspector Arun Kumar.
The gathering was initially described by the personnel as a “Sampark Sabha” rather than a protest. They sought a meeting with Delhi Police commissioner Anurag Kumar to present their account of the October 23 incident at Shahdara police station.
