228 people, including 75 Punjabi-origin youths, arrested for stealing cars in Toronto 

Punjab E News: Toronto police have arrested 228 people and recovered more than 1,000 stolen cars from city residents. These include 75 Punjabi youths. Many of them are in their early 20s and had gone to Canada from Punjab on study visa. 
      The Toronto police were constantly tracking Punjabi youths. In particular, 1,080 stolen cars have been recovered between November 2022 and September 2023.
     According to the information, Punjabi youth in Canada have a lot of employment problems. In order to earn more money in a short time, they joined the car gang. 
     So far in 2023, 9,747 vehicles have been stolen in Toronto. Investigations revealed that more than 3,500 vehicles were stolen in two police divisions Atobicoke and North West Toronto alone. Brampton and surrounding areas in Toronto are considered strongholds of the Punjab community. Apart from this, the number of Punjabi youth in Mississauga is also increasing continuously.
