Amritsar fake encounter case: After 31 years, CBI court sentences 3 policemen to life imprisonment

Punjab E News: A CBI court sentenced three Amritsar policemen including Inspector Dharam Singh, ASI Surinder Singh and Gurdev Singh – to life imprisonment in the 1992 fake encounter case. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh on the three policemen. 
       In 1992, three youths Harjeet Singh, Lakhwinder Singh and Jaspinder Singh were killed in a fake encounter by nine policemen. 
After getting justice for his father’s death after 31 years, Rampreet Singh, son of deceased Harjeet Singh, a resident of Butar Sevian, said that he was one year old when his father was killed by these policemen.
        Rampreet Singh said that the family had lost courage at one point. It seemed that justice would not be done, but he did not lose courage. He has lived his whole life without his father.
        In this case, 57 witnesses were kept by the CBI and a charge sheet was filed against 9, but in these 31 years, where 5 accused died, 27 witnesses were also missing.
