Drug peddler Jagdish Bhola gets three-day interim bail

Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted three-day interim bail to Jagdish Bhola, the kingpin of a drug racket in Punjab. Jagdish Bhola’s mother died on June 8.
The High Court has allowed Bhola to participate in the Akhand Path at Rai Ke Kalan in Bathinda from June 16 to 18 followed by bhog and immersion of ashes at Sri Kiratpur Sahib on June 19. During this time, all the rituals will be completed in police custody.
Bhola will be monitored by two IPS officers, one male and one female officer. The Bathinda DC has also been ordered to monitor. On the evening of June 19, Bhola has been ordered to be sent back to jail. Jagdish Bhola had sought interim bail for 15 days to attend his mother’s bhog and perform the last rites as a son. The high court had earlier granted one-day parole to Bhola in March after his mother’s health deteriorated.
