High Court seeks report from Punjab government on plea filed by Capt Amarinder Singh’s close aide Bharat Inder Chahal

Chandigarh News: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued notices to the Punjab government and other respondents seeking their response on the anticipatory bail plea of Bharat Inder Singh Chahal, a close aide of former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, in a disproportionate assets case.
     Bharat Inder Chahal had filed a petition in the High Court saying that the present Aam Aadmi Party government is taking action against the leaders of the previous government and their close associates under political vendetta. 
      Under this, an attempt is being made to implicate the petitioner as well. Chahal has demanded that the vigilance probe initiated against him in November last year. 
      An FIR was lodged against him in this case. He has given full details of all his bank accounts, assets and income, despite this, he is being implicated under rivalry. Now he is 75 years old and is ready to cooperate in the investigation, so he should be given anticipatory bail.
