Indian-origin man charged with stealing from temple in several areas in Canada

Toronto: A 41-year-old Indian-origin Canadian man has been charged with vandalizing temples and stealing from donation boxes. The accused has been identified as Jagdish Pandher, a resident of Brampton city.

According to police, between March and August 2023, several such incidents have been reported in the Peel area of Brampton, Mississauga and Caledon.

Surveillance footage of three places of worship showed the man entering temples and stealing cash from donation boxes.

Pandher, who is already in custody for such offences, has been charged with five other charges of vandalism in temples and businesses and stealing money.
