Minor girl alleged raped by 70-year-old man in Phagwara

Phagwara: A 14-year-old girl of the village has been forcibly raped by the villagers in village Balalon of Phagwara subdivision of Kapurthala and has informed the police station Sadar. The victim girl has been admitted to the local civil hospital in critical condition.

Giving information about this, the village residents said that a 70-year-old man of the village, Ramesh, used to lure a 14-year-old girl of the village for the past several days and take her to the fields and allegedly assaulted her.

The villagers said that when the condition of the said girl deteriorated, her family and village residents came to know about the crime and they brought her to the civil hospital and informed the police station Sadar about the incident.

The matter is under investigation, police said.
