Multi-crore Pearl Scam: Punjab government orders Vigilance probe
Punjab News: The Punjab government has handed over the probe into the multi-crore Pearl scam to the Vigilance Bureau, earlier Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had assured to provide justice to those duped by the Pearl Group.
Investigation of FIR No.1,2023 at State Crime Police Station Mohali (SAS Nagar) has been handed over to the Vigilance Bureau with immediate effect.
According to the information, this investigation will be done by the Economic Wing of the Vigilance Bureau.
Pertinently, this Group had committed a scam of several thousand crores in Punjab, promising to double the people’s money by investing it in the land, the Punjab Government has directed the Vigilance Bureau that no one should be spared in this scam and all the evidence should be collected.
According to the information, this investigation has been handed over to the Vigilance Bureau as per the recommendations of the Loda Committee constituted by the Supreme Court, it is worth mentioning that the Supreme Court had constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Justice R.M. Lod, this committee had recommended that where the people who invested money on a large scale have been cheated, a special investigation should be done into this matter.
It is worth mentioning that many cases of Pearl Group are going on in the courts. After the vigilance investigation, there was a ray of hope for the investors whose crores of rupees have been drowned in this scam.
