Prostitution racket bust: 26 arrested, including 9 foreign women in Punjab’s Phagwara

Chandigarh: Phagwara police have busted a flesh trade in Kapurthala district of Punjab. Police have arrested a total of 26 people. These include 13 men (all Indian nationals) and 13 women (nine foreign nationals and four Indian nationals).

Nine passports, 29 mobile phones and Rs 45,000 in cash were recovered from them. A case has been registered against all of them in Satnampur police station of Phagwara.

Kapurthala SSP Vatsala Gupta said that SP Phagwara had received a secret information that a large-scale prostitution racket was being run near the law gate located on the Jalandhar-Phagwara highway.

After the information was confirmed, immediately Phagwara police teams raided. More than 30 Punjab Police personnel conducted a raid.
