Vigilance Bureau arrests Revenue Patwari for taking bribe

Amritsar News: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB), during its ongoing campaign against corruption in the state, has arrested a revenue Patwari Sunil Dutt, posted in Amritsar district for accepting bribe of Rs 42,000.

  Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the state VB said this case has been registered against the said accused on an online complaint lodged by Gursahib Singh, a resident of village Jalloke, district Amritsar on the Chief Minister anti corruption action line.

    He further added that the complainant has alleged in his complaint that the above said Patwari has took a bribe of Rs 42,000 in lieu of executing mutation of his land.

    In this regard the VB range Amritsar has investigated the complaint and found the allegations as true and correct. On the basis of this report, a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the above said accused at VB police station Amritsar range and the said Patwari has been arrested. Further investigation into this case was under progress, he added.
