75 people dead, 103 missing in Brazil floods

Rio de Janeiro: At least 75 people have been killed and 103 are missing in seven days due to severe flooding in Brazil’s southern province of Rio Grande do Sul.

At least 155 people have been injured in flood-related incidents, while more than 88,000 people have been rendered homeless. About 16,000 people have taken shelter in schools, gymnasiums and other temporary shelters.

There were reports of landslides, road blockades and bridge collapses at several places in the state due to the floods.

More than eight lakh people are forced to live without water supply.
