Big relief to Gaurav Yadav, CAT rejects plea challenging his posting as Punjab DGP

Chandigarh: Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav has got a big relief from the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT).

The CAT has dismissed the petition filed by senior IPS officer and former DGP VK Bhawra against the posting of Yadav to the post of DGP.

In fact, this controversy started when the state government replaced 1987 batch IPS officer VK Bhawra with Gaurav Yadav as DGP.

After this, a petition was filed in CAT on his behalf. In this, he said that the rules of UPSE have been ignored to appoint Yadav as DGP. The rules have not been followed properly. This case was going on in CAT for almost a year.
