Canada’s unemployment rate rises to 5.2%

Ottawa: Canada’s unemployment rate rose 0.2 percent in May to 5.2 percent, the first increase in nine months, according to the National Statistical Agency.
   Statistics Canada said the unemployment rate among young people (ages 15 to 24) was 10.7 percent in May, up 1.1 percent from April. Among those aged 55 years and above, the unemployment rate has increased by 0.2 per cent to 4.1 per cent.
