Indian-origin singer fined in Singapore for molesting woman

New Delhi: A 42-year-old Indian-origin singer has been fined USD 3,000 for molesting a female member of the production team after a concert at the MediaCorp campus in Singapore.

Two other charges, including another charge of molestation, were also considered while sentencing Sivabalan Siva Prasad Menon.

During the court hearing, the public prosecutor said that on the day of the crime, Shivbalan had consumed 15 pegs of whisky and was in an inebriated state.

After the programme ended at 12.20 am, the victim and her male friend were waiting for a lift in the basement of the campus. The accused then came out of the lift and molested the victim present in front of him.
