New Delhi: Around 200 Indian passengers who were stranded at Bangkok airport for nearly 30 hours after an Air India flight developed a technical problem have finally departed for Delhi.
The passengers had been waiting at the airport since Thursday evening after their Air India flight was forced to return to the runway due to a technical issue. Several passengers from Madhya Pradesh were also among those affected.
According to the passengers, they had been repeatedly moved between the airport and a hotel and were frustrated by the lack of clear communication from the airline. They also claimed that no alternative flight had been arranged despite them waiting for several hours.
Flight delayed after scheduled departure
Air India had initially announced that flight AI4335 would depart at around 7.15 pm on Friday. However, the flight did not leave at the scheduled time.
Boarding eventually began around 8 pm, and the flight departed for Delhi at approximately 10.30 pm, after a delay of more than two hours.
Passengers said that women and young children were also among those stranded and complained that they had spent most of the previous day waiting for information about their journey back to India.
Air India later said arrangements had been made for the passengers and that they would be brought back to India.
