New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu, describing students as the “future builders of India”, said on Friday that the government is taking comprehensive steps to reform public examinations and make the system more transparent and reliable for young people.
Addressing the nation on the eve of the 80th Independence Day, President Murmu said the reforms aim to completely prevent the use of unfair means in public examinations and strengthen students’ confidence in the examination system.
She said public examinations open the doors to opportunities for students and, therefore, ensuring the integrity of the examination system should be a collective responsibility.
The President also called for concerted efforts to protect the present and future of students, drawing a parallel with the way the government and society come together to safeguard national security.
She emphasised that the proposed examination reforms are intended to make public examinations more transparent, secure and trustworthy for the country’s youth.
