Amritsar: Bollywood actor Sara Ali Khan became emotional during a visit to the Golden Temple in Amritsar on Tuesday, accompanied by actor Ayushmann Khurrana, ahead of the release of their upcoming film Udta Teer.
According to their guide, Sarabjit Singh, Sara expressed a wish to show her mother, Amrita Singh, the shrine through a video call. However, the request could not be fulfilled because mobile phone video calls and recording are not permitted in the sanctum where Guru Granth Sahib is installed.
Sarabjit Singh said Sara remained emotional throughout the visit. After leaving the shrine, she reportedly said that she was missing her mother and added that she felt good after visiting the holy site.
The actors paid obeisance, sought blessings and listened to Gurbani. Sara wore a light cream outfit with a dupatta covering her head, while Ayushmann was dressed in a traditional kurta-pyjama.
Later, the two actors visited the Attari-Wagah border, where they watched the retreat ceremony.
