Ludhiana: Air India flight AI-484 from Halwara International Airport to Delhi was delayed by around four hours on Saturday after a technical issue was detected just before take-off.
The aircraft was taxiing towards the runway when passengers heard a loud sound from the plane. The pilot immediately stopped the aircraft from proceeding further and returned it to the apron.
Following the technical issue, all passengers were deboarded and safely taken to the terminal building in buses. The aircraft was subsequently inspected and, after the necessary procedures were completed, the flight eventually departed for Delhi after a delay of around four hours.
The incident left passengers waiting at the airport for an extended period. However, Air India and Airports Authority of India officials did not provide details about the technical fault or the loud sound heard from the aircraft.
This is not the first recent disruption involving an Air India flight operating to or from Halwara. A few days ago, a Delhi-Halwara flight had to return to Delhi as a precaution from an altitude of around 10,000 feet. The aircraft had also made two attempts before landing amid adverse weather conditions.
