Chandigarh: Senior BJP leader and former Union minister Anurag Thakur on Tuesday challenged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other opposition parties over their allegations of “vote theft” during a press conference at the BJP Chandigarh Pradesh headquarters, Kamalam, in Sector 33.
BJP Chandigarh Pradesh president Jatinder Pal Malhotra was also present at the press conference.
Launching a sharp attack on Gandhi, Thakur alleged that the Congress lacked a clear vision and was spreading confusion beyond its own ranks, including among the country’s youth.
He said young citizens deserved reliable information, constitutional literacy and meaningful policy debates, rather than politically motivated rhetoric that could undermine public confidence in democratic processes.
Thakur added that India’s younger generation should be equipped to distinguish political claims from documented irregularities, instead of being drawn into a persistent atmosphere of suspicion.
