Sanaa: At least 58 soldiers were killed and dozens injured after a ballistic missile and drone attack targeted military positions in Yemen, according to the Yemeni Defence Ministry.
The ministry condemned the strike and said the attack would receive a response “at the right time and in the right place.”
Meanwhile, an attack in Najran, Saudi Arabia, left 11 civilians injured, including seven Saudi nationals, one Yemeni, two Egyptians, one Pakistani national, and a four-year-old child.
Hormuz negotiations gain momentum
According to an AP report, a deal between the United States and Iran over the Strait of Hormuz could be reached soon. A draft agreement being discussed between Iran and Oman is reportedly in its final stages.
US President Donald Trump claimed that Iran had initiated fresh talks and said negotiations between the two countries were progressing well. He described an agreement as the best possible outcome for Iran.
Shipping traffic remains disrupted
Maritime tracking data shows that commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has fallen sharply amid regional tensions. Only two ships reportedly passed through the waterway on Wednesday, compared with the usual 130–140 vessels per day before the conflict. Shipping activity through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait has also continued to decline due to ongoing security concerns.
