New Delhi: BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Thursday held his first key meeting with the party’s newly appointed general secretaries, with discussions focusing on the strategy for upcoming state Assembly elections.
During the meeting, Satish Poonia briefed the leadership on the political situation in Punjab. BJP leaders, including Smriti Irani, Sunil Bansal and national organisation general secretary B.L. Santosh, were also present.
Poonia said the meeting covered key organisational issues, upcoming elections in different states and the roadmap for the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’.
BJP plans booth-level expansion in Punjab
With the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections in focus, the BJP has decided to strengthen its organisational presence across all 25,000 polling booths in the state.
The party is also focusing on micro-management and has decided to establish 622 circles and more than 6,000 sub-circles to strengthen its grassroots network.
Santosh’s participation comes shortly after his two-day organisational visit to Punjab, during which he held meetings with party office-bearers and reviewed the organisation’s preparedness.
The BJP leadership also reviewed the performance of various party fronts and discussed organisational programmes planned for the coming months, with an emphasis on strengthening weak links at the grassroots level ahead of the elections.
