Calgary police release photos of 17 wanted in 59 extortion and shooting cases

Calgary: Police in Calgary have released photographs of 17 people wanted in connection with 59 extortion and shooting cases following a lengthy investigation, urging the public to help identify and locate them.

According to the police, most of the wanted individuals are young adults, and several are believed to have come to Canada on study permits. Investigators allege that some became involved in criminal activities instead of pursuing their studies.

Police have appealed to anyone with information about the suspects’ whereabouts to come forward. They have assured informants that their identities will be kept confidential.

Authorities have also raised concerns that some of the suspects may have fled to India. Police indicated that, if their locations are established, international cooperation, including through Interpol where applicable, could help secure their return to Canada to face legal proceedings.

The 17 individuals named in the police appeal are Gagandeep Singh, alias Gaggi, 29; Tanveer Singh, 21; Kanureet Kaur, 23; Rajvot Toor, 20; Akashdeep Singh, 19; Gurkaran Dhaliwal, 21; Ishandeep Singh, 19; Jarmanjeet Singh, alias Gary Singh, 20; Amandeep Singh, 21; Tarnveer Singh, 24; Karanbir Singh, 21; Amandeep Malli, 39; Sandeep Singh, alias Harman Gill, 32; Pardeep Singh, 24; Jaskaran Singh, alias Jassi Buttar, 21; Anurag Singh Sidhu, 21; and Daksh Gautam, 25.

Police have urged members of the public who recognise any of the individuals or have credible information about their whereabouts to contact investigators. The allegations remain subject to the legal process, and the individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
