Chandigarh: Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has criticised the police action against students during Monday’s protest, calling on the authorities to engage with the demonstrators and address their concerns.
Reacting to the incident, Dosanjh said the demands raised by students should be heard instead of being met with force.
“I already have the tag of being ‘anti-national’. After the farmers’ protest, I faced immense backlash and legal troubles that I can’t even discuss,” he said while expressing support for the students.
The artist appealed for a peaceful resolution and urged the government to listen to the voices of young people seeking accountability and reforms.
His remarks come after clashes between police and protesters during demonstrations over the alleged NEET paper leak and demands for reforms in the education system, which left several people injured and led to multiple detentions.
