Extends festive greetings to residents, attends Dussehra celebrations across Jalandhar, and calls for Punjab’s progress, prosperity and communal harmony

Jalandhar News: Nitin Kohli, Aam Aadmi Party’s Jalandhar Central constituency in-charge, extended warm greetings to residents on the occasion of Dussehra and shared a message of truth, righteousness, social harmony and collective progress. He said the festival reminds people to overcome evil, promote positivity and strengthen the values of brotherhood and mutual respect in society.

Nitin Kohli attended various Dussehra celebrations organised across Jalandhar on Tuesday, joining residents in the festive spirit. The celebrations were scheduled at several locations across the city, including Adarsh Nagar Market (Chopati), the old Dussehra Ground behind Geeta Mandir, the area opposite Police Division No. 1, Hind Samachar Ground, Kirti Nagar on Ladowali Road, Jalandhar Cantonment, Ladhewali, New Beant Nagar, Surya Enclave and Guru Nanak Pura, among other areas.

Nitin Kohli said Dussehra carries the timeless message of good triumphing over evil, truth prevailing over falsehood and justice overcoming injustice. The life and ideals of Lord Shri Ram inspire people to follow the path of righteousness, discipline, duty and humanity.

He said the significance of Dussehra goes beyond the symbolic burning of Ravana’s effigy. The occasion also encourages people to reflect on their actions and resolve to overcome negative traits such as ego, anger, hatred and intolerance. He added that adopting these values in everyday life can help create a more peaceful and respectful society.
Speaking about Punjab’s development, Kohli said the state has a rich legacy of hard work, courage, service and brotherhood. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government is working towards the state’s progress and public welfare. He emphasised that development should be accompanied by peace, social unity and communal harmony.
He said providing better opportunities to young people, improving public well-being and ensuring that every citizen can contribute to Punjab’s progress are important shared responsibilities. He added that collective efforts by the government and society can help build a stronger and more prosperous state.
Kohli further said that festivals are an important part of India’s cultural heritage and bring people together beyond social differences. Punjab’s strength, he said, lies in the unity, hard work and mutual respect of its people. Preserving these values is essential to building a safe and progressive Punjab for future generations.
On the occasion, he wished residents happiness, peace and prosperity and expressed hope that Dussehra would bring renewed positivity and hope into their lives. He urged people to uphold truth and goodness, strengthen bonds of brotherhood and work collectively towards a better society and a stronger Punjab.
