EPFO launches official WhatsApp channel for PF balance, claims and other services

New Delhi: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has launched an official WhatsApp channel to make it easier for members and pensioners to access important updates and information related to its services.

Members can initiate a conversation by sending “Hello” to EPFO’s verified WhatsApp number. The platform is expected to provide information in regional languages and assist with routine queries, including PF balance, recent transactions and claim status.

In a post on X, the retirement fund body announced that members can follow its official WhatsApp channel for important updates and useful information. EPFO has also shared a direct link and QR code for users to access the channel.

The WhatsApp platform is expected to provide access to several commonly used EPFO services, including checking PF balance, tracking claim status, viewing the last five transactions, EPF passbook assistance, Aadhaar authentication support and DBT-related updates.

The Labour Ministry said the WhatsApp initiative is part of EPFO’s wider digital transformation, which includes UPI-based withdrawals, an increased auto-settlement limit, automatic PF transfers after job changes and database improvements aimed at reducing delays and making online services more efficient.

The ministry said the initiative is intended to make EPFO services faster, simpler and more accessible for smartphone users.

It also cautioned members to verify that they are using the official EPFO WhatsApp channel and avoid clicking links or responding to messages from unauthorised accounts claiming to provide PF-related services.
